Dear Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Bilbao and to the 7th Joint Meeting of the French, Portuguese and Spanish Proteomics Societies. On behalf of SEProt, I am delighted to welcome researchers from our three vibrant scientific communities to this special gathering.
Over the years, this meeting has travelled to a number of remarkable locations, from Aix-en-Provence and Córdoba to Saint-Malo and Vilamoura. Each edition has played an important role in fostering the development of our trilateral proteomics community. Bringing the meeting to Bilbao for the first time is therefore a particularly meaningful occasion, allowing us to celebrate our shared journey while further strengthening the scientific collaborations and personal connections that make this event so special.
The scientific programme reflects the remarkable breadth and dynamism of modern proteomics and related fields, featuring cutting-edge research, emerging technologies, and innovative applications. With internationally recognised invited speakers, alongside a wide range of contributions from our community, the meeting offers an inspiring setting for scientific exchange, open discussion, and new collaborations. Most importantly, it provides an opportunity for researchers at every stage of their careers to present their work, discover new perspectives, and connect with colleagues from Portugal, France and Spain.
Bilbao is an excellent city for hosting a scientific congress, thanks to its strong track record in research, innovation, and technology. It is home to leading scientific and academic institutions, as well as a dynamic biotechnology and business ecosystem. The city has an international airport located just a short distance from the city centre, providing excellent national and international connectivity for researchers and professionals from around the world. In addition, Bilbao offers a rich cultural, gastronomic, and tourist experience that enhances the overall experience of participants. All these factors make Bilbao an attractive, accessible, and inspiring destination for scientific exchange and the development of new collaborations.
The success of this joint meeting has always depended on the active involvement of its participants and sponsors, and I am confident that your contributions will make ProteoBilbao 2027 another memorable milestone for our community.
It is an honor to welcome you once again to Bilbao.
I wish you an inspiring and enjoyable meeting.

Message from the FPS – French Proteomics Society
It is with great pleasure that the French Proteomics Society (FPS) associates again with the Portuguese Proteomics Association (ProCura) and the Spanish Proteomics Society (SEProt) to co-organize the seventh edition of a joint meeting. The scientific committee did their best to cook up an original program whose flavor will be determined by invited speakers, and that we expect to be further colored by numerous oral presentations, a substantial fraction of which should be given by young researchers. We encourage many members of the FPS to participate in this conference, in which we expect exciting scientific exchanges and opportunities to initiate new collaborations.
Sincerely yours,
Delphine Pflieger
(President of the FPS)
Message from the PROCURA – Portuguese Proteomics Society
On behalf of PROCURA, I am delighted to greet the community ahead of ProteoBilbao 2027.
Meetings like this hold a special place within the EuPA family, offering a closer, more familiar setting where senior and early-career researchers stand shoulder to shoulder, exchanging ideas freely and turning conversations into lasting collaborations across Portugal, Spain, and France.
Over its editions, this meeting has given hundreds of young researchers their stage, presenting posters or oral communications, often for the very first time before an international audience. That is its true legacy, a launchpad for the next generation of proteomics. PROCURA is proud to support this exchange again through dedicated travel fellowships for our members.
It is an honor to join SEProt and FPS once more in welcoming you to Bilbao.
I wish you an inspiring and enjoyable meeting.
